“Summertime and the living is easy”….  I can’t get this song out of my head today.  Do you remember summer as a kid?  Long, carefree days.

Playing outside until the street lights came on.  A huge stack of library books.  Riding your bike until your legs hurt.  Dropping into bed at night, exhausted.

My early childhood home had a tin roof.  We didn’t have air conditioning, so all of the windows were always open.

    Rain on pavement is a vivid memory along with the library books, which I still do, and ice cream, because I wouldn’t eat it in the wintertime — too cold!

    My best summer memories are of weeks and summers spent at a Christian camp, both as a child and a parent. Nothing beats those. Flag raising, sunsets, chapel, swim lessons, snack bar, devotions, hikes, canoe trips….

    Love your pics, Elizabeth. Thanks for provoking these good memories.

    Now my favorite part of summer is gardening. As a child, some of my favorite memories were of the many road trips we would take. Good times and good memories indeed!

    My favorite summer memories include ice cream cones after leaving the pool, lemon shakeups from the county fair, eating fresh fruits and berries from our and my neighbors’ bushes and trees, and walking to everyones’ houses. It is fun to remember those times!

    We had a summer home in Lake Geneva, WI when I was a kid and we would spend our entire summer there just hanging out by the water. Swimming, boat rides, skiing, picnics, etc. Some of my best memories. I miss the laziness that should come with summer. I just want to grab my family and go away for a weekend! Wishing you a beautiful summer, Elizabeth. {Hugs}
