How Fun! Vol. 7

How Fun! Volume 7 A list of fun and interesting links at www.beautyobserved.com pizza crust recipe, wool felting

“How fun!” That’s my exclamation when I see or hear about something I like.  Here are just a few things that touched me or made me smile this week:

Visit Beauty Observed for fine art, inspiration and landscape photography. Take a break!

Like much of the country, we’ve been experiencing arctic temperatures.  This makes me want to make good, filling food for my family.  Plus, the oven helps to heat up the kitchen which currently has ice on the inside of some of the windows.  On Tuesday night, I felt like making pizza, but didn’t think that my kitchen was warm enough to get a good rise out of my usual crust recipe.  So, I did what any modern woman does and turned to Pinterest.  I found this recipe for pizza from Melanie Makes.  In less time than I could have pizza delivered to my house, we were sitting down to fabulous homemade pizza.  Everyone loved it and it’s going in the recipe file!

Mary Poppins (Odyssey Classics)

I still haven’t been able to get to the theater to see Saving Mr. Banks.  I’ve watched the Disney movie version of Mary Poppins 1,198,476 times.  I am the mother of two daughters after all.  😉  I’ve picked up the original book to read so I will understand the P.L. Travers character better before I see the movie.  It is quite a delightful book.  Did you know that Mary Poppins is actually a series?  How fun!

When I was a child, I had the Mary Poppins record.  I would listen to Let’s Go Fly a Kite over and over and over.  The funny thing is that I never saw the movie until I was an adult with my own children.

I’m looking forward to next weekend when Saving Mr. Banks comes out.   Do you plan to see it?

This video of a 3D printer “printing” a bird cage is amazing!

Did you read Ed’s post about The Island of Misfit Toys?  I think it’s worth your time.

I think I might try my hand at this Christmas tree garland from A Delightsome Life.
