The following pictures are of million bells which are also called calibrachoa. (You can click on any photo to see it at full size.)

Calibrachoa is a member of the evergreen family.

Isn’t that fascinating??

I just spent the morning in my garden!

red-calibrachoa-bumble-bee-1What joy it brings to my heart!

red-calibrachoa-bumble-bee-3Riotous beauty everywhere!

orange-calibrachoa-bumble-beeAnd, then, bumblebees!

red-calibrachoa-bumble-bee-2When I first started home schooling, I read a lot of Charlotte Mason.

I loved her idea of sitting and watching the bumble bees.

We can learn so much from just stopping and watching, don’t you think?

Improve each shining hour,
And gather honey all the day
From every opening flower.

Tell me, what fills your heart with joy?

How Fun! Vol. 38

how-fun-2

“How fun!” I find myself exclaiming this many times throughout the week. Here are just a few things that touched me or made me smile:

I promise you, I have not disappeared. I had every intention of hosting the Whatever is Lovely link-up party last Friday. My body had other ideas.

Last Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, I was walking through our dark house to retrieve something from the kitchen. I walked into a dining room chair that wasn’t where it was supposed to be. It was obvious to me that a toe on my left foot was broken. I touched it and it popped. Ouch! I instantly felt light-headed. Everyone was upstairs. I settled myself down and then made my way upstairs.

I found Ed and told him that I felt like I was going to throw up or pass out. After sitting down, I did the latter. Apparently I was making odd gurgling sounds which made Ed think that I was choking. He was able to get me to the floor while my son called the ambulance.

Fortunately, I was fine. It was not necessary to go to the hospital. After all of the dust settled, I found that I had injured my left knee in some way when I fainted. I spent two days in my bedroom because I could not make it down stairs. I am still hobbling around and haven’t been doing much.

So, that’s what happened to last Friday’s blog post. I’m beginning to be able to chuckle about it.  🙂

Here’s a really fun instagram account to follow:  @mirrorsme   She draws elaborate doodles on her mirror, inserts herself into them, and then snaps a selfie.  I find it very imaginative and whimsical.  And thank you to all those who started or do follow me on instagram!  I appreciate you!

Instead of my weekly menu, I’m going to tell you about the Indian meal that Amy made us.  I know that Amy eats lots of Indian food while she’s in DC.  We don’t really have any Indian restaurants close to us.  About the time we were deciding if we should make the drive to a restaurant around some distance away, one of my friends suddenly came into all of these Indian ingredients that she wanted to give away.  (The Lord provides!!!)  Amy spent all day yesterday cooking and amazing scents filled the air in our home.  We have FEASTED!

Easy Indian Butter Chicken
Saag Paneer (with no paneer.  lol)
Chana Daal
Basamati Rice
Store bought Naan (Believe it or not, I found it at Walmart!!!)
Kulfi (I made this and used real whipping cream instead of Cool Whip.)

Amy used this recipe to make Tandoori Masala which was used in the Butter Chicken.
