Scripture Journaling Psalm 119:71
It is good for me
that I was afflicted,
That I might
learn your statutes.
Psalm 119: 71
Those are some tough words, aren’t they? They go against so much of what we desire-happiness, an easy path. But when do we tend to learn the most? I don’t know about you, but I learn more from my mistakes than from the things that comes easily to me.
In January of 2017, I fell and broke my right shoulder in two places. I definitely felt afflicted. But I can tell you, the Lord used that time in my life to teach me so much about Him, His statutes, if you will. It was a difficult time, but I can look back on it and see how He loved me through it, gently healing broken pieces in my soul while He mended my bones back together.
