Five Beautiful Memes for Psalm 119:36-40

I think this succulent photo is perfect for the five beautiful memes for Psalm 119:36-40. Succulents are so popular right now, but I hadn’t owned one until a couple of weeks ago when I received one at a bridal shower I attended.  What a beautiful and thoughtful parting gift!

Incline my heart to your testimonies,
and not to selfish gain!
Psalm 119:36

Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things,
and give me life in your ways.
Psalm 119:37

Confirm to your servant your promise,
that you may be feared.
Psalm 119:38

Turn away the reproach that I dread,
for your rules are good.
Psalm 119:39

Behold, I long for your precepts;
in your righteousness give me life!
Psalm 119:40

  • I”m often drawn to see how they”ve applied the psalmody, and I noticed that Psalm 87 also appears in one of the votive Masses for the BVM. Note the Communion antiphon, “Glorious things are spoken of you, O Virgin Mary, for he who is mighty has done great things for you, a mash-up of Psalm 87:3 and Luke 1:49. The Scripture chosen is a Song of Zion, and the reference in the Old Testament is a longing for a future time of restoration and joy. If this is something of Cardinal Sarah”s hand, a longing for some rosy future, I can”t argue against it.
