It’s fall and that generally means more time to read…at least in our household. There’s nothing like curling up with a warm drink, a comfy blanket, and a good book. Here’s what I’m reading in September:

Prayer on Fire by Fred Hartley I’ve been reading this book for a couple of months because it is the book our small group is reading. I only read a chapter every two weeks. Lots of good jewels in this one!
Discipline by Elisabeth Elliot I haven’t read a book by Elisabeth Elliot since I was in high school. Since my word for this school year is “focus,” I thought this book would help me! Expect to see some posts in the future from this book.
Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan
The New Foxe’s Book of Martyrs by John Foxe This is a hard book to read, not because of the level of difficulty in the literature, but because of the subject matter.
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley I feel like the appearance of this book on my list is the answer to the question “Which of these books doesn’t belong?” It is part of my son’s home school curriculum. Even though I’ve assigned it before, I’ve never read it. No time like the present!
Of Plymouth Plantation by William Bradford Pretty apropos for fall, don’t you think?
The Confessions of Faith and Catechisms by The Orthodox Presbyterian Church While I’m not Presbyterian, I am finding this book very helpful.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen One of my favorite books!
What are you reading this month? Comment below and let me know!

I read Of Plymouth Plantation for a class in college. Once was enough for me! I don’t think I’ve ever read Elisabeth Elliot, but she’s definitely on my list. Not so cozy yet where we live-supposed to be 91 today!
Of Plymouth Plantation has been on my list for years. It just keeps falling off. I’ll be interested to see if I wish it had fallen off completely after your comment. lol
It was pretty hot that day, but I know that the furnace will be cranked by the end of the month. I just love fall! It’s my favorite season of the year!
Sounds like great reads. I love that you have Frankenstein on your list!
Have you read it, Barbie? I just read through the introduction about Mary Shelley’s life. Very sad!
