Ohio Living

Except for the four years that Ed and I lived in Tennessee, I’ve always lived in Ohio.  We like to call the Tennessee years our “college years” even though he was working full time and I only took a few classes at a local community college.    What I’m trying to say is that I’m an Ohio girl at heart.   Both sets of my grandparents were Ohio farmers.  I love the smell of freshly cut hay.  The smell of spring-time “fertilizer” doesn’t bother me much.

These photos were taken while on various drives through the country.  (Ed digitally enhanced some of them with his own artistic effects.)

I love that I’ve married a man that just likes to take drives for no other purpose than the pleasure of enjoying the sights.  When I was a little girl, we would spend the weekends just driving.  Soft serve ice cream cones where usually part of the picture.  As I’m writing this, I realize that I have continued that same tradition with my kids…a drive in the country and a stop at an ice cream place.

I love the country and I loved visiting my grandparents’ farm, but I’ve always lived in a town.  I like my little city block in the old section of our little villiage.  And do you want to hear something funny that has nothing to do with this post?   Every house that Ed and I have ever bought has been on a corner.  We didn’t go out searching for corner houses, they just found us.

Thank you for listening to my rambling. I think the long weekend, our country drive, and a stop for ice cream made me very nostalgic.  As I’m writing this, the “sweet light” is coming in my window.  The curtains are blowing in the breeze.  I’m enjoying this temperate Ohio May evening.  I’m quite content.

Now it’s your turn.  Tell me what you like about the area that you live in?

Have a beautiful day!
